Introduction:

Being a huge fan of SRK and the director Rajkumar Hirani this film has been on my bucket list for a long time. The movie’s reason was mostly the director Rajkumari Hirani who had already released some of the best Hindi movies of all time like 3 Idiots, PK, Munna bhai MBBS, Sanju and other special ones. Talking especially about the movie Dunki, Let’s share the good and bad in short ( of course our review is spoiler-free).

Synopsis:

In the movie “Dunki”, Hardy and his friends brave dangerous odds to enter England via an illegal backdoor route.

Plot:

The narrative of ‘Dunki’ is an emotional journey, weaving together themes of friendship, romance, and moments that tug at the heartstrings while also offering warmth. From the trailer, it’s evident that the film delves into the issue of immigration in India, emphasizing why individuals choose to migrate from their homeland. It sheds light on the fact that most people don’t decide to leave their hometown or their loved ones without reason. The movie underscores that everyone has their compelling reasons, often centred around the pursuit of a better quality of life.

Remarkable:

The movie ‘Dunki’ chose a great topic – immigration – and presented it in a Rajkumar Hirani’s style, which is awesome. The actors, especially Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu did an amazing job. They could make you laugh and cry in the same scene! People are also really excited about Vicky Kaushal, even though his role in the film hasn’t been revealed much. He’s known for his amazing acting, and even with a small part in the movie, he’s leaving a big impression. Vikram Kochhar and  Anil Grover have also played a good impact in the movie in supporting roles.

Nowadays, it’s hard to find movies that are both funny and meaningful. Some comedy films flop because they miss the mark on making people laugh or understanding what audiences want. ‘Dunki’ is a breath of fresh air. It’s a movie that the whole family can enjoy because it’s funny and has a good story.

Unimpressive:

Boman Irani, one of the actors in the movie, didn’t have a significant role or much to explore in ‘Dunki’. Also, I felt that the movie gave away some surprises at the beginning of the movie, and it might have been more enjoyable if those surprises were kept secret. Some parts of the story were easy to guess, while others were unexpected.

Conclusion:

Overall, compared to Rajkumar Hirani’s previous works, ‘Dunki’ doesn’t stand out as his best. It has its moments that might make you laugh a bit and feel a few emotions, but it doesn’t reach the level of his finest creations. Dunki without comparison stands as one of the movies to watch at the end of this 2023.
